Location

Bussas is 7 kms from St Jean du Gard, an attractive small market town on the banks of the river Gardon, the goal of Robert Louis Stevenson in his “Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes”. It is 3 kms from L’Estrechure, a small village with essential shops, café and bar.

Nîmes and Montpellier airports have direct flights to London. There are also TGV connections at Avignon, Nîmes and Montpellier. The nearest railway station is at Alès.

The Languedoc was part of Roman Provence. It is now the greatest wine growing area of France, famous for its exceptional light and sunshine and with an unbroken coastline of sandy beaches. It is renowned for its ancient cities of Montpellier, Nîmes and Arles which contain superb Roman remains.

Day expeditions can easily be made to historic and cultural centres such as Montpellier, Nîmes and Avignon; also to the Carmargue and the Mediterranean.
